EyeTV is a digital TV recorder with realtime MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 video encoding that allows you to watch and record from an antenna, cable TV, or satellite TV directly to your Macintosh. On Macs equipped with DVD-R (Superdrive) you can edit out unwanted content and burn DVDs of recorded TV. I recommend Roxio Toast to burn DVDs with EyeTV. Skipping commercials on recorded shows is a one button press using included remote. Information about the current program is displayed in an overlay window automatically on every channel change. You can even pause and replay “live” TV, letting you watch what you want, when you want it. Miss nothing. Think TiVo-like.
