Start-up Keyboard Shortcuts For Mac OS X.
Just hold down key below to:
C – Start up from a CD that has a system folder
N – Attempt to start up from a compatible network server (NetBoot)
R – Force PowerBook screen reset
T – Start up in FireWire Target Disk mode (great for moving data from one OS X Mac to another)
X – Force Mac OS X start-up
Shift – Start up in Safe Boot mode and temporarily disable log-in items and non-essential kernel extension files (Mac OS X 10.2 and later)
Command-S – Start up in Single-User mode (command line)
Command-V – Start up in Verbose mode.
Option-Command-Shift-Delete – Bypass primary start-up volume and seek a different start-up volume (such as a CD or external disk)
Hold down mouse button (right one for the people with two button mouse) on start-up to eject a CD or DVD.
Command, Option, P, and R – Reset PRAM – hold down until you hear a couple beeps.
