iPod Tip #1
Transfer Music From iPod to Macintosh
Apple only allows you to copy songs to your iPod. If you have two Macs and want to use your iPod to transfer music from one to the other. Or let’s say you need to copy your huge audio collection back onto your new hard drive after the old one died, you are out of luck! These two shareware applications come in pretty handy for these purposes.

These applications only work for Mac OS X users.
iPod Rip $15, PodWorks $8, Senuti free, have unique features. I have used them and found them very helpful. These are my top picks for Macintosh OS X. I have used iPod Rip and PodWorks for some time. And now Senuti comes on board with a great price, FREE!

Here are Windows and Linux compatible shareware that also work like this. I have not personally tried them. But here are some links:
iPod Music Liberator
iPod Access
PodUtil
Anapod Explorer
CopyPod
Xplay
iPod Agent
SharePod
