My ipod was frozen, it was stuck on the main menu and would not do a thing. I finally took the advice from a site and plugged it into the power source, nothing happened right away. Finally after a min or so the ipod started working.. Very wierd...

I would try this first before doing a software reset!

Actually, frozen iPods are rare for most users. I own just about every model made including the very first one the 1st generation 5 GB and they rarely freeze. If this is happening to you a lot. I suggest a software restore and reloading your tracks or a visit to the Apple Store Genius.
Happy New Year

I tried to "unfreeze" my fifth generation iPod with your suggestions and it never worked. I have too many songs to go through erasing it. Also, WHY isn't this software issue fixed? Hello! It's the year 2006. It takes 3-4 hours before the battery finally turns the iPod off and then I turn it on and it's fine. TIP: Never trust technology to be your DJ. Only DJ equipment and a professional DJ can continue doing that job!

If the reset did not work for you a software restore may work. The software restore will erase all your music on the iPod. But if it is safe on your computer, resyncing is all that will be needed.
See http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/tutorial/ip_gettingstarted_t15.html
for more instructions.

My ipod shuffle did not respond, while I was charging it, when my computer crashed. How do I make it to work. I was also trying to save a file at the same time on the shuffle.
