Use the Option key when closing and opening Finder windows for better productivity.
If you have several Finder windows open at once you can click on each windows close button one by one. This is a bit slow.

Here is a faster method
Option + click on any of the Finder window’s close buttons. This will close all the Finder windows at once. Or use the keyboard shortcut combination Option + Command (Apple key) +W.
Avoid creating desktop clutter by holding down the Option key when clicking on a folder to open. This will automatically close the enclosing folder.
