iTunes Tip #30
Trimming off the beginning or end of any track in iTunes will allow you to get rid of “dead air”, silence in the beginning or end of a song. It allows you to skip past a slow beginning of a song as they have been doing on commercial radio forever. No need to edit the track in another application you can do this right in iTunes.

Here’s how:
Select the track in your iTunes Library.

Control + click on it (right-click for you multi-button mouse users), select Get Info from the contextual menu. Then go to Options tab.

Trim Start and Stop Time

See a Start Time and Stop Time, here you can specify where the song should start or stop. Done!
