Apple opened their new store on Fifth Avenue in midtown New York City on Friday. Long lines of people waited in the rain to get into the new store which will be open 24 hours and 365 days a year according to Apple. Apple has time lapse photographs from the first 24 hours and a photo gallery. Steve Jobs made an appearance along with thousands of others. Also spotted at the event were Spike Lee, Julianne Moore, Elizabeth Berkeley, and others. There was even a marriage proposal right outside the store.

Thanks for posting the pictures. Apple had a good turnout for celebrities also.
We saw the guy with the foul mouthed dog, Tina Fey, Kaanye West, Ayres D’Cunha, and a couple of singers and performers. It was funny seeing independent film guys walking around with hi-8mm cameras and taking interviews. They were acting like Spielberg!! LOL. See, Steve, I told you I can be independent also. I have a VHS camera I can walk around with, it’s huge, people would think they would be broadcast on channel 360.
The apple guys formed a line in front of the entrance and clapped and cheered you on the way in and on the way out. Of course, Ayres and I were yelling and screaming on the way in, on the way out we were already pooped, all they got was a yeh. I don’t know what the big deal was, people were lined up until 62nd and Madison. The Store looked decent sized (only one floor) , but I think the one in London was bigger, but the suspended apple in NY makes it much, much cooler. Only in New York kiddies, only in NY!
Anyway, you will see when you come for a visit.
