OS X Tip #100
OK, we have reached our 100th OS X tip.
Let’s say you have a folder of pictures or a CD someone gave you with some photos on it. You want to see a “quick” slideshow of them without importing them into iPhoto, creating an album, etc. Actually this is really easy.
Here’s how:
Selecting the photos you want in the slide show by highlighting them. If you want them all in a particular folder just Command (Apple key) + A inside the folder and all the image files will be selected. Or highlight only the ones you want by highlighting the first one, hold the Shift key down and highlight the last on in the row you want. Also, holding down the Command (Apple key) while you select files will allow you to select only the ones you want.
Now, Control + Click (or right-click for a multibutton mouse) on the the selected files to bring up a contextual menu.

Select “Slideshow.” Instanly, you have a “iPhoto like slideshow playing.
Control the Slideshow
Move the mouse and a control menu will appear.

You can pause, navigate to a particular picture, view an “contact-like” sheet of all the selected pictures, go full screen, or close the slideshow.
