OS X Tip #109
Most users may already know that to “Get Info” on a file in OS X all you have to do is highlight file and use the contextual menu by Control + click (or right click for multi-button mouse users) and select Get Info. A window will appear with information about the file. See below.

Get Info

But what if you want information on multiple files, do you have to each one, one at a time? Or worse yet highlight them all and do the Control + click and select Get Info and have windows open all over my Mac’s screen? No and N0. There is a better way.

Here’s how:
Highlight each of the files you want info on either by selecting them with the Shift + click or Command (Apple key) + click to select the ones you want. See OS X Tips #106: Important Finder Keyboard Commands if you do not understand how to select files fast.

Selected Files

After selecting the files you want. Just press Command + Option + I and you will get a single Get Info window for all the files.

Get Info Multiple Files

Also you can now select additional files and this multiple item info window will update automatically. This is great when you want to change the file properties on a bunch of files all at once!
