You go to some websites like CNN.com and the the video will not play. This is usually a simple fix that just requires you to download the correct video player. Unfortunately, there is no standard here. Different websites support different players. You can get your Mac to play these videos.

Here’s how:
Download and install the free Flip4Mac Windows Media Components for QuickTime. This will allow you to play Windows Media files inside your QuickTime Player. You can also use the Windows Media Player 9 for Mac OS X available from Microsoft here.

If the website is using Real Player, you can download and install the free version for OS X from here.

Make sure that you close your browsers when you install the players and relaunch the browsers. You should have video playing now.
