OS X Tip #131
Your Mac has the ability to set the time and date automatically, and keep it “on time.”
Here’s how:
Go to the Apple Menu -> System Preferences -> Date & Time (under System).
Under the “Date & Time” tab you can check the box for “set the date & time automatically” and choose the location from the dropdown menu that matches your location, Apple Americas, Apple Asia or Apple Europe.

Next go to the “Time Zone” tab and pick a city closest to your location.

Now your Mac can keep the time and date automatically by using one of Apple’s time servers located on the Internet. Your Mac will update your clock automatically.
If you go to the Clock tab you can change the way your Mac’s clock is viewed or have your Mac announce the time for you.

Now you will be in prefect time. Whenever your Mac is connected to the Internet it will be able to sync its clock with the server Apple has provided.
