Verizon is raising the monthly price for a DVR (Digital Video Recorder) from $12.99 to $15.99. Notices are now being received to existing FiOS customers. This will apply to new services added and orders places on or after July 13, 2007. Have to say I am a bit surprised they are doing this already, as they have not yet established a large footprint in a competitive marketplace.

Other charges that are also changing is the cost of a full disconnect if it requires a technician to visit. This will cost $74.99, but you can always return your equipment yourself for free. Sure makes me wonder what the “triple-play” will cost from Verizon when the one year promotion is up? Seems they have already shown they are not afraid to raise prices for a DVR that is not exactly impressive. TiVo it is NOT.
