Gateway has recently unveiled a PC model designed to compete with the iMac they call One. The new model tries its best to look like an iMac and is available for pre-order with an estimated ship date of November 26, 2007.
It will only be available with a 19″ LCD screen (the iMacs come in 20 or 24 inch screens), while featuring only a Core 2 Duo 1.5GHz, 400GB HD, 2GB RAM, Windows Vista® Home Premium Edition, DVD burner, webcam, and Microsoft Works at $1,499.99. More expensive than the iMac 20 inch. Who said that Macs were more expensive than PCs?
Gateway says: Never before has the PC world seen such beauty and power in one machine. The technological marvels of the Gateway® One include a sleek all-in-one design featuring an integrated 19” widescreen. Really, I thought the iMac has been around for years!
I say buy the 20 inch iMac, it is prettier, faster, cheaper, comes with Apple’s iLife, and you can run Windows on it if you must!
