OS X Leopard Tip #8
Spaces is an exciting new feature that Apple has added to Leopard. Spaces is basically “virtual desktops” for the rest of us.
Having used Linux for quite a while, I have always hoped that Apple would add “virtual desktops” to OS X. I have tried several add-ons to OS X and Windows to get this ability in the past, but they always have fallen short in performance. I think Apple has hit a “home run” with Spaces. I now use it everyday. I usually run Windows XP (in VMware Fusion) on my MacBook Pro during the day and use the Control + arrow keys to literally switch from Windows XP to Mac OS X apps in a flash.
Moving your Windows from one Space to another is actually quite easy.
Here’s how:
Activate Spaces by pressing the F8 key (fn + F8 on MacBook Pro).
Now Spaces will show all your “spaces” or virtual desktops full screen.

Now simply drag the application or Window to the space you want with your mouse.
You can change the default key combination [F8] in the System Preferences -> Spaces
