OS X Leopard Tip #13
Leopard allows you to override your Dock magnification settings located in your System Preferences -> Dock.

Here’s how:
Just hold down Shift + Control keys while hovering you mouse over the Dock.

If your Dock magnification is set to off. This will override the Dock setting and will magnify.

If your Dock magnification is set to on the Dock should remain the same size.
