ThinkSecret.com a popular Apple rumor site that was sometimes correct and many times wrong will shut down as part of a settlement with Apple Apple sued the rumor site for leaking early product details three years ago.
December 20, 2007 - PRESS RELEASE: Apple and Think Secret have settled their lawsuit, reaching an agreement that results in a positive solution for both sides. As part of the confidential settlement, no sources were revealed and Think Secret will no longer be published. Nick Ciarelli, Think Secret’s publisher, said “I’m pleased to have reached this amicable settlement, and will now be able to move forward with my college studies and broader journalistic pursuits.”
Apple has released an update (3.0.4) for Safari for Windows. Safari seems to be getting better for the Windows platform. Safari is available for XP and Vista.
ReelSmart has just been moved to a better server that should help the CPU Quota problems we were having with the current traffic load. Google has launched a new web interface for Picasa, their photo sharing service, that is optimized for the iPhone and iPod touch.
Shares of Apple Inc. [AAPL] rose 2.87 percent up $4.35 pre share to close at record breaking $194.30 with a market value of $170.12 billion on volume of 38,070,059 shares and passes Cisco’s [CSCO] $166.54 billion in market value. Apple is now the third most valuable company in market value in tech sector behind Microsoft and Google at least at the moment. Apple has more than three times the market value of Dell with $56.06 billion. Wonder how Michael Dell feels about Apple’s future now?
An update for Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac (build 5582), has been released. This release includes improved Leopard compatibility, improved USB compatibility, and more. Parallels Desktop is $79.99 for Intel-based Macs. A new $99.99 Premium Edition includes Windows software for malware protection, backup, and disk management.
Adobe has released a Premiere Pro 3.1.1 update and a Leopard compatibility update for its Soundbooth CS3 applications. It is highly recommended for all Adobe users. Premiere Pro and Soundbooth CS3 require an Intel Mac with Mac OS X 10.4.9 or later.
Bare Bones Software has released Yojimbo 1.5 which features an information collector and organizer with Smart Collections, tags, a Drop Dock, live search, Spotlight support, encryption for individual items, Sync Services support, and other features. This release is Leopard compatible and adds support for image and icon files, faster searching and filtering, more complete Spotlight results, and other changes.
Yojimbo makes keeping all the small (or even large) bits of information that pour in every day organized and accessible. It’s simple with practically no learning curve. Yojimbo 1.5 has replaced SOHO Notes on my Macs.
HierarchicalDock is donationware that bring back a Tiger-like” hierarchical menus to folders in your Dock. System Requirements are Mac OS X 10.5 or higher in Universal Binary for Intel and PPC Macs.
Adobe has released Flash Player 9.0.115.0 for Mac OS X for Intel and PowerPC. Includeed support for H.264 video and HE-AAC audio codecs, multi-core support for vector rendering, full-screen mode with hardware scaling, and other improvements.
