:: Apple 5th Avenue Flagship Store Closed (Temporarily)

220522-DSC03616_300.jpgMan I hate reporting on rumors, but the “facts” are the Apple’s 24-hour flagship 5th Avenue retail store in Manhattan is shut down. Apple’s 5th Avenue store has only been entirely closed twice in its history: the iPhone launch and the Leopard launch.

Please note we will be temporarily closed Thursday, May 29 at 3:00 p.m. and will reopen Friday, May 30 at 9:00 a.m. During this time, please visit one of our other two Manhattan locations.

The “rumor” from several sources are they are busy shooting a new 3G iPhone commercial!

While I am on the rumor rant, there are big signs that .Mac will be relaunched under a new name and expanded somewhere around the possible new iPhone launch after the WWDC keynote from Steve Jobs on June 9.

:: Dash Express: The Internet Connected GPS

What do you get when you mesh GPS, WiFi, cellular, Internet, and a social network in your vehicle? You get the Dash Express GPS.

Introducting Dash Express

The traffic information offered on most standard GPS units is expensive and limited in “real time” anything they can deliver. The Dash Express is aimed to change that with a GPS that offers a full time connection to the Internet. You get the traffic information provided from traffic cams, EZ-Pass, road sensors, and commercial fleets, but best of all you get information instantly from other Dash owners traveling the roads in your area. The Dash Express is lot more than just directions. Many more videos and more information after the jump.

FilemakerPro_logo.pngAccording to a post at the Mac Observer, Macy’s Parade & Entertainment Group, the arm that manages the retailer’s annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, has given up on Microsoft Access and is moving its databases to FileMaker Pro 9.
