GameStop has announced it will no longer sell Microsoft’s Zune MP3 player due to lack of sales and consumer interest.
“We have decided to exit the Zune category because it just did not have the appeal we had anticipated,” a GameStop spokesperson said. “It did not fit with our product mix.”
Zune has sold only 2 million units since its introduction in 2006. Apple has sold 85 million iPods in the same time period, outselling Microsoft’s Zune by a factor of 42.5 to 1.

I think this is a ploy to help convince investors that MSFT does not need the YHOO acquisition. Whether or not it will work, I am not sure. Depends on what ‘work’ means. Certainly, it will help. look at the popularity of these ‘deal’ and ‘coupon’ and ‘rebate’ sites on the net and you will see that there is a significant following there… So it will definitely help, but I am unconvinced that it will make a meaningful impact in its search engine market share.
