If you have purchased Applications, Music, or other content directly from your iPhone or iPod touch from the App Store or the iTunes WiFi Store you will most likely want to back them up and transfer them back to your computers iTunes library.

Usually iTunes is smart enough to ask if you want to transfer purchased stuff, but just in case it doesn’t all is not lost. You can get iTunes to do this for you.

Here’s how:
After connecting your iPhone or iPod touch to your computer to sync with iTunes you can just do a right mouse click (Control + click) on the iPhone or iPod touch icon that should appear in the left column.

Now just choose Transfer Purchases. iTunes should now be happy to copy these to the respected folders in your iTunes Library.
