:: EA Brings Spore to iPhone and iPod touch

spore_appstore.pngElectronic Art’s Spore $9.99 is hidden in the iTunes App Store. Likely part of an announcement for tomorrow’s Steve-note. If you want it NOW go here.

Tomorrow’s “Let’s Rock” iPod related event will most likely be bringing us iTunes 8 and hopefully iPhone 2.1 update. The event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco at 10 AM PT. The banners were raised over the weekend. Maybe we can get more interest in new hardware, software and services than Steve Jobs weight this time around.

:: iPhone 3G Launch at Best Buy on Sunday

bestbuy_iphone.png

With no sign of iPhone 3G sales slowing they will be going on sale at Best Buy this Sunday September 7th. Sales numbers on the iPhone 3G have caused even Nokia to scale back its forecast to stockholders. iPhone 3G is now outselling the Blackberry Curve at AT&T. This is despite some iPhone glitches with 3G, dropped calls and crashing apps.

:: Microsoft Tries To Be Cool?

An uninspiring, unfunny, pointless, creepy ad starts Microsoft’s new $300 million ad campaign. This ad will attract who? Which demographic? Are we to believe that Seinfeld becomes friends with Bill Gates? I guess for the $10 million Microsoft is supposed to be paying him, even a guy that had a Mac in his apartment on his show all those years, he can be friends with a very rich nerd. I think John Hodgman plays a better Bill Gates type and is funnier than Seinfeld.

:: Microsoft About To Do Another “Me Too”

After all the years that Windows Mobile has been in existence Microsoft is about to follow Apple’s lead and open an “App Store” for Windows Mobile users.

Maybe they are realizing how many developers are working on iPhone apps now instead of Windows Mobile. One Windows Mobile magazine has even converted into an iPhone magazine. [via PCWorld]

For years I read “Google should create their own browser.” Well it seems they have. Based on Webkit instead of Gecko, Google’s Chrome will be available for Windows only at first with other platforms to follow.
