Road warriors may find the iPhone’s battery a bit inadequate. Personally, I can usually get through a work day on a charge. Sometimes my battery is spent by end of the work day however if I used my iPhone a lot. If you are finding that your iPhone battery is spent you may want to get a battery extender.
The iPhone does not having a replaceable battery. Using one of these battery extenders solves this completely. Making the iPhone’s non-replaceable battery mostly irrelevant.
There are several models to choose from. Here are the ones I came up with.
The 3GJUICE 2.0 (1750mAh), $53.95 [Amazon] – Use the 3GJUICE for three hours and then remove it. Your iPhone 3G is fully loaded (100%), not partially as some other batteries do.
Also charges all iPod’s of the third generation or higher (those with 30 pins connectior), the iPod touch, the older iPhone (2G), the Nano, the Nano Chromatic (new model), iPod Shuffle, iPod Classic, iPod Video.
Weight 1.6 ounces
Battery Pack dimensions 2.4″ L x 0.5″ H x 2.4″ W inches
Kensington Mini Battery Extender and Charger for iPod and iPhone (1000mAH), $32.78 [Amazon] – is another choice and is a bit less expensive, but also has less capacity.
This unit is handy and will extend your iPhone or iPod’s use time. However it will not completely re-charge your iPhone’s battery.
Weight 1.6 ounces
Battery Pack dimensions 2.38″ L X 0.38″ H X 1.69″ W
Richard Solo Backup Battery for iPhone and iPod (1200mAh), $49.95 – has a bit more capacity than the Kensington battery, but is physically bigger.

Weight 1.76 ounces
Battery Pack dimensions 2.83″ L X 0.49″ H X 1.77″ W
Brando’s iPhone 2G/3G Power Station (1000mAh), $25 – similar to the Kensington battery and comes in black or white.

Seems a bit under powered by with a nice price.
Brando’s iPower Power Station for iPhone 2G or 3G (2400mAh) $44 – is lie a caddy or case that your iPhone fits in. It includes a speaker for the iPhone.

Weight: 93g
Morphie Juice Pack, $99.95 – they offer a model for the original iPhone and will be shipping a iPhone 3G version on October 30th. This unit is like a case that the iPhone slips into, but it appears that it would not protect much.

Weight 3 ounces
Battery Pack dimensions 4.75″ L X 0.75″ H X 2.5″ W
iPhoneck (1500mAh), $49.99 – for iPhone 3G
