iPhone Tip #27
The iPhone by default sets the the first letter of each sentence to be a capitol. There are a few shortcuts to take advantage of the Caps Lock key.

Here’s how:
The Caps Lock key has three main states – unlocked, momentary and locked. You can tell its state by how the key appears.

The iPhone by default uses the momentary for the first letter of the first word in each sentence. Then reverts to the unlocked state.

You can enable the Caps Lock in Settings -> General -> Keyboard.

Quick Caps in a row or inside a sentence
Say you want to type CIA, FBI, or RAM in one of your emails. You may not realize all you need to do is to touch the Shift key then slide over to the desired key without taking your finger off the screen.

This also works for the Number key. Say you want to type a number, you can just touch the Number key (.?123) and slide over to the desired number without taking your finger off the screen.

Please Note: You can also simply hold the shift key with one finger while typing with another!
