G-Map U.S. East and G-Map U.S. West for the iPhone have been updated to version 1.3.1 adding voice-prompted real time turn-by-turn route guidance with an alarm sound at the turn.

Unlike other turn-by-turn guidance apps available for the iPhone G-Map does not require a monthly subscription (basically $9.95 per month) or even a cellular network connection to operate. The maps are loaded onto your iPhone. This is a one time purchase.

G-Map U.S. East is selling for $34.99 and G-Map U.S. West is selling for $34.99 in the App Store right now.

Other improvements to G-map is:

• Direction arrow and remaining distance on top-right of the map screen
• Pinch in/out function for map zoom in and out
• Skipping to the next or previous exits and intersections in the Route Preview
