RSS Feeds

So What is RSS Really?

RSS, “Really Simple Syndication” feed is simply a lightweight XML (Extensible Markup Language) formated file containing summaries of stories, news, or blog posts. Using a news reader, sometimes called aggregators you can easily subscribe to this feed. No need to visit ReelSmart.com everyday to check for new posts, the news reader will allow a quick glimpse of any new information published.

How Do You Read An RSS Feed?

To read an RSS Feed you’ll need news reader software like NetNewsWire from NewsGator (free), Shrook 2, NewsFire (free) or OS X users can use Safari which has a built in RSS reader. Vienna is a great free and open source RSS/Atom Newsreader for Mac OS X. Firefox users can easily add Sage news reader extension. Microsoft's Internet Explorer 7 has some RSS features. You can also use web-based services like Bloglines, My Yahoo!, MSN, AOL, Feedburner, Google, etc.

Just copy the address for one of the RSS feeds listed below by just Control+Click (or right click) the link and select the "Copy Link to Clipboard" option from the contextual menu that appears. Paste this URL into the news reader application and you are subscribed. Some news readers, like NetNewsWire, lets you just drag a link, like the ones below, directly into the program to add the news feed. Now as new posts are added to RealSmart.com you can read the summary, if you want to read the entire post, one click on the summary and you will be brought right to ReelSmart.com to read the entire story.
