I have been using Fring and Nimbuzz to make Skype calls on my iPhone, but now I am excited to get the official Skype app due tomorrow.

CNET and PCWorld are reporting that Skype is coming to the iPhone tomorrow, BlackBerry devices in May. Fring and Nimbuzz should be easily bested by the official Skype App that doesn’t need the extra audio transcoding. The SkypeOut calls will work over WiFi only and will use your iPhone Contacts in addition to many of the other features you’ve used from the desktop client. iPod touch (second generation owners will require earphones with an embedded mic to talk. UPDATE: Engadget is reporting that Skype for iPhone is LIVE in Japan already.

Apple has announced Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will take place from Monday June 8th to the 12th at the Moscone West convention center in San Francisco.




Apple unveiled yesterday their iPhone 3.0 software containing 100 new features that will be rolling out to consumers sometime this summer. Developers are already downloading the beta SDK that offers over 1,000 new APIs which promises even better mobile applications than the over 25,000 that are available today.

Apple has just sent out invitations to a special media event on March 17. The invite-only event is geared towards the new iPhone SDK, Apple says, and will give the media a “sneak peek” at the iPhone OS 3.0 software taking place at Apple’s Town Hall building in Cupertino at 10 AM Pacific Time.
